Google Maps listings don’t display email addresses directly. To collect them, lobstr.io visits the website linked in each business’s Google Maps profile and scans it for contact email addresses. When lobstr.io finds an email, it adds it to your results and lets you run a verification check to confirm deliverability.

How email collection works

When you enable the Extract Emails from Website option in your squid settings, lobstr.io follows this process for each listing it scrapes:
1

Check for a linked website

lobstr.io looks at the Google Maps business profile to see if it includes a website URL.
2

Visit the business website

If a website is present, lobstr.io navigates to it and scans common contact areas — including the footer, contact page, and about page — for email addresses.
3

Add emails to your results

Any email addresses found are automatically included in your scraped dataset.

How to verify collected emails

After your scrape completes, you can run a validation check to confirm which email addresses are deliverable.
1

Go to the Runs tab

Open the Runs tab below the Live results console in your squid.
2

Click Verify

Find the completed run and click the Verify button next to it.
3

Download the verified results

Wait for the validation process to finish, then download your results file. Each email will have a status in the Email Status column.
lobstr.io’s email validation system is up to 97% accurate — meaning a verified Valid email has only a 3% chance of bouncing. The system also runs additional checks on catch-all domains, which many other tools simply label as unknown.

Why you might get no emails

If your results don’t include email addresses, the most likely reasons are:
  • The Extract Emails from Website option was not turned on before the scrape.
  • The business listing did not include a website link.
  • The linked website did not display any email addresses in publicly accessible sections.
lobstr.io does not visit social media pages linked from Google Maps listings (such as Facebook or Instagram) to look for emails. If you need emails from those pages, use the dedicated Facebook Page Details Export tool.
Email availability varies significantly by business type and region. Many local businesses, particularly in certain industries or countries, either don’t have a website or don’t publish a contact email. Expect variable hit rates across your dataset.
To maximize your email yield, filter your Google Maps search to businesses that are more likely to have a website — such as established companies, hotels, clinics, or agencies rather than informal or pop-up vendors. More listings with websites means more opportunities for lobstr.io to find contact emails.
