How email collection works
When you enable the Extract Emails from Website option in your squid settings, lobstr.io follows this process for each listing it scrapes:Check for a linked website
lobstr.io looks at the Google Maps business profile to see if it includes a website URL.
Visit the business website
If a website is present, lobstr.io navigates to it and scans common contact areas — including the footer, contact page, and about page — for email addresses.
How to verify collected emails
After your scrape completes, you can run a validation check to confirm which email addresses are deliverable.
lobstr.io’s email validation system is up to 97% accurate — meaning a verified
Valid email has only a 3% chance of bouncing. The system also runs additional checks on catch-all domains, which many other tools simply label as unknown.
Why you might get no emails
If your results don’t include email addresses, the most likely reasons are:- The Extract Emails from Website option was not turned on before the scrape.
- The business listing did not include a website link.
- The linked website did not display any email addresses in publicly accessible sections.
Email availability varies significantly by business type and region. Many local businesses, particularly in certain industries or countries, either don’t have a website or don’t publish a contact email. Expect variable hit rates across your dataset.
